Arike Ogunbowale
Arike Ogunbowale, a Nigerian American pro basketball player who plays for the Dallas Wings of the Women's National Basketball Association. She played basketball in college with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. The Wings were drafted with five selections in the 2019 WNBA. Arike Ogunbowale was born in Milwaukee Wisconsin on March 2, 1997 to Yolanda Ogunbowale and Gregory Ogunbowale. Mario Ogunbowale (26 years old) as well as Dare Ogunbowale (19 years) are her brothers older than her. She was the youngest child of her family, and her parents spoilt her the most. Ogunbowale won gold medals at the 2013 U16 FIBA Americas Championships, 2014 FIBA U17 World Championships and 2013 FIBA 3x3 U18 Championships. On 7 July 2014, Ogunbowale made the USA Youth Olympic Women's Basketball Team. Ogunbowale has also been selected to be part of the ACC All-Freshman Team for her first time in a collegiate game. Ogunbowale was also congratulated by the legendary Kobe Bryant after she hit numerous big shots during the NCCA Tournament. Even though she is still just a rookie she has established herself as an exceptional basketball player, and she is bound to follow her dream.
